This document is a brief guide to the API and its goals, including some simple programming examples. However, this document is not intended to be a complete guide to the API. The definitive guide to the specification is the automatically-generated ("javadoc") API documentation. In all cases, the automatically-generated documentation takes precedence over the descriptive materal in this document.
